There’s something that stirs within each one of us, bringing out the worst in us. It’s keeps us from apologizing or forgiving, it keeps us from showing weakness and to obsess over our own glory and to take joy in other people’s failures. It turns our relationships with friends and families toxic and shuts out the grace of God. What is it? Come on, you already know. It’s your pride...and we're taking a look at it in this three-week teaching series.

SONG | Blessed Be Your Name by Matt Redman [iTunes]

Job stood up, tore his robe in grief, and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground and worshiped. He said, “Naked I came from my mother, and naked I will return. The Lord has given, and the Lord has taken away! May the name of the Lord be praised.” Through all this Job did not sin or blame God for doing anything wrong.

SONG |  New Cities by Kip Fox

Everything we have is a gift from God
All that we have and are belong to God,
Bought with the blood of Jesus

Lord, help us be a people who live lives of sacrifical generosity
that through our generosity, Your love would be known.
Keep us from the delusion fo wealth and riches
and remind us that our treasure is in Christ

Increase our genersoity so that there are no needy person among us.
Grant us faithfulness in our stewardship of such a small thing as money
that Christ may trust us with true riches

Above all, let us be generous because our Father is generous
And it is our joy to share His generous heart with the world.

Our Father
Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven;
give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen
